could have been longer - Theres no doubting the quality of most of these songs..though a longer cd would have been more fitting. Smoe ommsions are apparent..tracks like Family man,Isnt it midnight,Beautiful child and a couple of others should have been included. Unfortunately apart from the brilliant Gypsy..the cd has 2 awful tracks from the average mirage album which spoil a good set. The 2 new songs are ok though not amazing. If you are new to FM then this is a good intro to the band as alot of the hits are here. Also check out there excellent comeback album 2003 s Say you will which is excellent.
A PURE MICK FLEETWOOD S CREATION!!! - One of the best compilations I ve ever hearded, all of the songs are very known, and all of them are ORIGINAL HITS, restored from the analog recordings, great classic compositions like DREAMS, GO ON YOUR OWN WAY, LITTLE LIES, great ballads like AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW, OH DIANE!, SARA, great rock like TUSK, DON T STOP and BIG LOVE, the first time I hearded this disc, I decided that I had to buy it!!!, when you hear this disc, you will play it one and one and THOUSAND times!!!
where is Albatross ? - Rhiannon, Dreams,Lies and Oh Dianne were my personal favourites though I would have loved the inclusion of Albatross which is my all time favourite. That said, not a bad Best of compilation.
Who Needs A Box Set? - How could anyone not enjoy this 16 song collection of some of Fleetwood Macs greatest songs? Noting that it starts with the Nicks/Buckingham period until the nineties, every song is a gem. Included are some lesser known tracks like, No Questions Asked and Little Lies along with the perennial favorites. I surprised to learn that with all these fantastic hits, only Dreams made it to #1 on the Billboard charts, noting that Stevie Nicks had written the lyrics pre-Fleetwood Mac days. Stephen Davis includes some nice liner notes. If this set does not satisfy you, obtain the four disc set called, The Chain. That collection includes a full disc of early Fleetwood Mac material from the late sixties/early seventies to the present. Regardless, this CD is a reflection of rockin songs we all grew up with.
An a-plus compilation of the greats from all the cd s - I am a very big Fleetwood Mac fan, but there are almost always a few songs on their individual cd s that I really dislike. This cd is great in that it does not include any of these songs, so I can listen to it from start to finish. These are all great songs that make you remember when they were performing together - they all fed off each other constructively which created their awesome music and destructively which led to their downfall. However, Fleetwood Mac never really lost popularity and the songs on this cd easily show you why. They are great songs, with a sound that was so distinct to the band. I was thrilled when the band got back together for a little while and released some new material - unfortunately, this was short lived. This is a wonderful cd for any Fleetwood Mac lover.
