Queen brought a whole new meaning to the phrase over the top. While rock & roll flamboyance stretched back at least as far as Little Richard, Freddie Mercury continued to camp it up, taking little seriously and smirking at the music s growing pretensions while partaking in them no small bit. Many of the band s singles hold up extremely well, such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen and You re My Best Friend. The quartet s canny sense of melody and sophisticated vocal harmonies--not to mention Mercury s raised eyebrow--have travelled well through the years. --Rickey Wright

Overblown and over the top - Queen are the most overrated band ever. This collection does contain the odd decent song but most songs here are trivial, soul-less, hollow and very very empty. The world s most pointless band!

QUEEN FANTASTIC CD SHAME THEY DONT DO A DOUBLE!! - i have the platinum collection which disc three has some good but some fillers eg remix wyclef jean version awfull truely!! and some other fillers they could easy do a double cd of queen like with pink floyd, led zeppelin, david bowie easy they could well my mam had this when i was a kid and i absoloutely loved them and still do if you like rock and dont have queen you dont have a rock collection simply!! its like if youre a soul lover not likeing aretha franklin or mahalia jackson or minnie riperton or stevie wonder etc buy this its fantastic all songs are fabalous!! happy listening

First class - Music introduced to me by my daughter. It is excellent and a worthy addition to any collection.

Simply the best Greatest Hits around - If you were to buy one Queen album, this would be it. Apart from Sheer Heart Attach and A Night At The Opera, Queen s studio album s were inconsistent affairs and always had the odd stinker (e.g. Drowse, More Of That Jazz, Who Needs You, etc). This album collates 17 of their biggest singles (all Top 20 in one way or another) and you can t really complain about the track listing. OK, so a few singles are not on here (Tie Your Mother Down and Spread Your Wings were minor hits, Keep Yourself Alive didn t chart) but this compilation seems perfectly balanced with the tracks already on here. It s apparent that Freddie Mercury was definitely the dominant songwriter within this period of the band (Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Crazy Little Thing...., Somebody To Love, Don t Stop Me Now, etc) but there are also a couple of gems from John Deacon (Another One Bites The Dust, You re My Best Friend) with Brian May providing the rock (Now I m Here, We Will Rock You, etc). Basically, this album is essential even for non-Queen fans.

Fantastic - Ordered this CD the other day and it s great. All i can say is that you won t be dissapointed if you buy this CD. All the greatest hits and well worth the price.
