Where s South of the border - Ok Robbie s had some great singles & big hits, but lets get to the point.South of the Border was one of the most underated singles of his Career.I Like most of Robbie s stuff, even Intensive Care & Rudebox grew on me,but why miss out the hits,i.e not making it a proper greatest hits from that era.(It s like Kylie s ultimate missing out the gem that was some kind of bliss If the record company make an updated greatest hits like other bands used to such as The Beautiful South, etc then please include this,as we are all sick of the predictable angels & Let me entertain you now.Sort it out peeps.
Fag-end Britpop panto performer - This is a mixed bag from the leading man of Middle of the Road music. Following their huge expense investment and the failure of Escapology to make headway in the USA, you have to wonder what EMI made of the single Radio .Bleeping perversely like a Thomas Dolby version idea of electroclash, bemoaning the guy who s stolen my oscars, it seemed to mock the very idea of William s international prospects. This compilation too often shows Williams perched uncomfortably between fag-end Britpop panto and the new Parkpop easy listening. Not recommended.
Awful - what is there to say......the guy is a karaoke singer.......not even a good one...get a life Britain....listen to music don t buy the hype..
Robbie Williams: Greatest Hits - Im a new Robbie fan, and the first album i bought of his is this collection! I like all the songs on here apart from Let Love Be Your Engery - its one of those i can t bother listening to. Other than that...it s fab! Hopefully there will be a Greatest Hits part 2....as long as it doesn t have Rudebox on it!! But it probably will. All songs here show Robbie at his very best, and frankly, i hope he gets it back again, he seems to have lost it a bit at the moment. It was going so well until 2006. Strangely i started liking Robbie when Rudebox was first around...i didn t like him cus of the song...i just started listening to his other songs...these ones! Come on Robbie...pull yourself together...where has THIS person gone??Back to this album, songs that could have been included (i know they can t cus it d be too much) but It s Only Us, and South Of The Border. Oh...and in The Road To Mandalay...i always have to fast forward it at the beginning cus its takes ages to get to the singing doesn t it!
Fat Pub Singer Makes Good... - There s two schools of thought on Mr Williams, is he very talented and misunderstood? or is he just annoying making good from other people s talents?. I m in the latter camp, it s no coincident since Guy Chambers left the fold that Robbie s career has stuttered and sometimes bemused fans (i.e. The Hip Hop Album Rudebox) but as an collection of this collabrations work is actually not half bad. Not sure how much of it Robbie did actually throw into the pot but you can t argue that some songs have captured the hearts of the nation.
